On the morning of February 25th, our university held the 2021 work deployment meeting to study and deploy the school's work in 2021 and promote the further development of the university at a higher level. President Sun Youhong deployed the work in 2021, and Party Secretary Ma Junjie put forward clear work requirements.
Sun Youhong pointed out that in 2021, under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the university will earnestly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Ministry of Education and Beijing, adhere to the general tone of seeking improvements in stability, and focus on carrying out eight aspects of work: in-depth study, publicity and interpretation of Xi Jinping’s Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. We will strengthen strategic planning and promote deeper integration of reform and development. Implement the fundamental task of cultivating students by virtue, improving the educational system of all-round developments in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor. Strengthen the expansion and integration of disciplines, and enhance the level of scientific and technological innovation. Strengthen the construction of the team of teachers by improving their ability. Promote domestic and international cooperation, enhance school influence. Enhance the governance ability and improve the conditions for university management. We will implement the "Centenary Action" to build the Party and improve the quality of Party building.
Around the eight work contents, Sun Youhong deployed in details the 34 key work points in 2021.He pointed out that, based on the new stage of development, to carry out new development concept, and to build a new pattern for development, we will promote high quality developments as the theme, fundamental power by reform and innovation, promoting all tasks raised in the 11th Party Congress of the university, by promoting the modernization of university management system and capacity, and continue to deepen connotative development by making efforts to create a new situation in building world-class university in the field of geosciences.
Ma stressed that 2021 will mark the start of a new journey to build comprehensively a modern socialist country. It is also the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Nodes in such a critical time, the university will deepen the study of the Xi Jinping’s Thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, imply conscientiously the party's 19 big spirit, adhere to and strengthen the party's comprehensive work of university leadership, implement in-depth the new era of the party’s general construction requirements, and promote constantly the further development of the university’s comprehensive governing. We need do a good job in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party, carry out intensive study and education in Party history, and guide Party members and officials to study Party history, understand the thinking, get practical work done, and reshape the situation. Ma Junjie encouraged all the teachers and students to carry forward the spirit of "serving the people, innovating as a pathfinder, and working like a horse" as is proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, to keep in mind the original mission, firm faith and confidence, and work hard and strive hard, so as to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party with outstanding achievements.
All university leaders, middle-level cadres, academician representatives, "two representatives and one committee members" of municipal level and above, representatives of retired comrades, non-party representatives, representatives of the party congress and the teaching congress, teachers' representatives and students' representatives attended the meeting.
