1. Major Introduction
Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation is a mechanical engineering discipline which is based on the professional knowledge of engineering mechanics, mechanical design, manufacturing and automation. The programme systematically teaches the theory of modern mechanical design and manufacturing technology and applies the design and research of mechatronics systems equipment. The discipline at our university takes machinery and equipment design, advanced manufacturing and mechatronics systems as the professional development direction. The discipline feature is to solve technique problems in the machinery and equipment design and manufacturing technology and realize the intelligent design and manufacture of mechanical and electrical products by using the theories and methods of advanced design manufacturing technology.
2. Academic Objectives
The discipline trains senior engineering and technical talents who can master the basic principles and basic knowledge by integrating interdisciplines such as computer science, information technology and automatic control technology into mechanical design and manufacturing, develop practical applications by using the related theory and technology of mechanical design, manufacturing and automation and can be engaged in design and manufacturing, technology development, application research, operation management and business sales.
3. Academic Requirements
The students mainly study the basic theory and knowledge of mechanical design, mechanical manufacturing, mechanical and electronic automation. They must accept basic training by modern mechanical engineers, master the systems, parts and process design of mechanical equipment, the expression of machinery, electronics, machining, hydraulic and automatic control systems, mathematical modeling, analysis, solution and argument, and the technology and skills of modern engineering tools such as mechanical drawing, simulation and analysis software, mechanical processing methods and electronic circuit analysis. They also must have a basic ability in mechanical product design, manufacturing, automatic control and production organization and management.
4. Length of Schooling and Degree
The length of schooling is four years of full-time study. Students will be awarded the Bachelor Degree of Engineering when they have completed the required minimum credits and have met all other requirements.
