Undergraduate Major:Land Resources Management

1. Major Introduction

The undergraduate program in Land Resources Management, in responses to national and sectional needs and the educational philosophy of “Characteristics and High Quality”, features geological support, solid foundation, intensive practice, outstanding skills and innovation. It cultivate tech-managerial talents in land resources management with ability to engage in land survey, registration, evaluation, planning, exploiting, management and scientific research, by providing systematic general education courses, disciplinary fundamental courses, professional fundamental courses as well as practical and innovative trainings. 

2. Academic Objectives

The program is to cultivate talents with good moral, sound background, wide knowledge, and high profession, who have mastered basic theories and practices of natural resources, economics, modern management and principles of land resources management, acquired basic skills containing geo-scientific cognition, measurement and cadastral survey, land information technology, land survey and evaluation, territorial and town planning, real estate appraisal, real estate registration, etc., and have achieved the abilities of land survey, mapping, planning, evaluation, cadastral survey, registration, management and computer application. Graduates of this program will be acquainted with the guidelines, policies, laws and regulations of national land use, management and sustainable development, and meet the management and research professional requirements of land, urban construction, agriculture, real estate and other related fields. 

3. Academic Requirements

The graduates need to grasp fundamental theory, knowledge and methodology in land resources management; obtain the basic knowledge of social sciences and natural science; acquire the skills of land survey, evaluation, planning, land information technology, cadastral management, real estate appraisal and registration, land management, and real estate development and operation; master the methods of information retrieval and analysis, and well know national policies, laws, regulations and developmental trends in land use and management. The graduates will have the strong ability of social survey, language expression and writing to be fully qualified for teaching and scientific research in land use and management, and land resources management. 

4. Length of Schooling and Degree

The length of schooling is four years of full-time study. Students will be awarded the Bachelor Degree of Engineering when they have completed the required minimum credits and have met all other requirements.

5. Core Courses

Specialized Core Courses: Land Management, Land Law, Land Information System, Land Resources Science, Land Economics, Cadastral Management, Land Use Engineering, Land Use Planning, Real Estate Appraisal, Engineering Project Investment and Management.

Practice Courses: Geological Survey Field Trip in Beidaihe, Surveying Practice, Land Information Technology Application Practice, Land Survey and Evaluation Practice, Practice of Real Estate Surveying and Registration, Real Estate Appraisal Practice, Integrated Practice of Land Use Planning, Graduation Design (Thesis).
